Miss Mahogany September 1st at the Desoto Civic Center
Tangala LaNiece Hollis
| Sept 1st Tangala dazzled the audience with her charm, grace and beauty. She graced the stage while showcasing her beautiful gown in the evening wear category.
Her beauty, confidence and glowing smile lit up the room when she charmingly paraded across the stage in her swimsuit. Tangalas' Humorous Monologue entitled "At the Hairdressers" in the talent segment won everyone over and had the audience very amused throughout her talent performance-----The judges stated that "she was unique and brought something new and different to the pageantry arena ".
Tangala also possessed a great deal of confidence while answering her impromptu question, “WHY DO YOU THINK THE MARRIAGE SUCCESS RATE IS DECLINING?” Her quick thinking wooed the crowed when she delivered her sharp answer to the Master of Ceremonies while keeping her poise and posture in front of the audience and judges. She endured five extensive not to mention intensive months of training, rehearsing, dieting, making appearances, community & volunteer work, exercising and taking classes to prepare for pageant night. Tangala won a $10,000.00 cash scholarship award to help fund her law school education. She is serious about education and knows that education is the key to success! Tangala plans to pursue a career as an attorney. Her ultimate goals are to be a productive member of society through the legal field and to fulfill the purpose that God has set forth for her. Tangala will be the spokes person for The Miss Mahogany Scholarship Foundation. She will use her reign to promote her platform, "Fighting against the vices of racism and sexism in society". Tangala will also be advancing to the nationals, competing in the Miss Black USA pageant for a $20,000 cash award as well as a full tuition scholarship to fund her education. www.missblackusa.org |
